Nathan received a Student of the Month Award for his "Great Learning Attitude" today. When the school called yesterday to invite me to the assembly I was so excited, I am pretty sure I even teared up a little. We didn't tell him anything about it. I got to his school a few minutes before the kids came in. He didn't even notice me there, so it was kind of fun to see how he acted. He is such a treat. Some of the kids were goofing off and being loud, but he just sat there with his arms folded, talking to his friends.
The principal started with the 5th graders and worked his way down through the grades. When he finally got to the Kindergarteners, Nathan's name was the second one to be called, and he was so excited. I went up to him at the end to give him hugs and take some pictures. He was so surprised that Ava and I came, and that we didn't tell him about it.
We are so proud of him! He really does have a great attitude towards learning, and we hope it stays with him.
