SLACKER...

Ok. I am a blog slacker. We have been so busy. So here is a little recap of March...

On the 13th we celebrated our 8 YEAR Anniversary! I feel so old. We both had to work that day but made sure we at least went out to dinner (without the kids) to Olive Garden. It was super yummy, and nice to just be together...even if we did have to hurry back so Tyler could tutor. Hopefully next anniversary our pictures won't all be in storage and I will have some better ones to choose from...

The week of our anniversary was also Spring Break. We were thinking of maybe going somewhere, but then found out the airshow was coming here so we went to that instead. It was amazing! The weather was supposed to be crummy the day of the show and I was praying so hard it would wait to rain and the wind until after the show.  The tickets were nonrefundable and I just knew Nathan would be heart broken if it got canceled.

The night before the show Ava got a UTI. I was so worried about how she would make it at the show, she was in so much pain. Luckily we caught it early on and the best PA in the area came through for us and she was able to get a few doses of meds in her before the show and was almost pain free that day.

We packed extra coats, blankets, ponchos, gloves and left the house bright and early. We got a parking spot near the entrance and set our chairs up in the front of the runway- we had great seats! After setting up we walked around and got to go inside a few big planes, Nathan says one was a C130.

The Blue Angels were so awesome. They kept flying right over us, and it is amazing how they stay so close without crashing. It ended up being overcast nearly all day.

We decided to leave right as the Blue Angels were getting done to try and beat some of the crowds. That is when the winds kicked up. By the time we got to the van we had red sand alllll over us- and we were parked really close! Since we were so close to the entrance it meant we were in the back to get to the exit. We were in the SAME SPOT of the parking lot for almost 2 HOURS!!!! It had been coordinated really well when you entered, but it was a free for all leaving. Finally the police came to control the traffic and we got out of there fast after that. The wind was so bad at that point that you could hardly see the car in front of you! Even with all the traffic and crazy weather it was so worth it and we all had so much fun.

Right before all this we finished our taxes and were so surprised that we were actually getting a refund! SO Tyler decided he was going back to school to get his MBA. He starts on Monday. Crrrazy!!!

He is going to be so busy starting Monday so I figured we better get as much done on this house ASAP. In a few months when Eric moves to Kentucky for medical school we will be moving upstairs, and renting the whole house from my parents. Last week we painted pretty much the entire main floor back to the original color. I had wanted to paint everything (something totally different), but as soon as I got started I was ready to be done, so we just matched the paint the best we could and redid the weird brown walls. I also painted the trim around the fireplace, the front door, the address numbers, and a bunch of other little things. I am planning on freshening up the doors and all the white trim, but I can do that on my own while Tyler studies.

Newly painted wall and fire place trim...just need a new tv there now :)

Window covering we installed

Front Door...I was too embarrassed to take a before picture

I will try and post more often, but can't make any promises!

Now I need to get decorating... I have a few ideas, but if you have any more (like for the built ins) let me know!

8 years!!! :D How exciting.. I love that you got married young too. What better way to spend the rest of your life than with the love of your life?! :) You have such a sweet happy family. I hope Tyler enjoys his MBA school! Mark isn't... ha ha Your house looks great! I hope more pictures are coming. Monica you are so pretty!! And I'm diggin' the backpack. I should probably start carrying one instead of a messenger bag that goes across my front. So flattering..

Thanks! You are so sweet!!

I must say a backpack for outings is way better then a purse or bag on one shoulder...then you still have two arms for carrying kids without dumping everything out every time you bend down and the weight is evenly distributed,so I am way less sore.
I only rock it at events though- not everyday errands. :)

Good times!! You had a busy March. I was kind of relieved to switch over the calendar to April and have nothing big scheduled yet....although our house needs repainting, too. The front door looks fab! I'm sure you don't miss the coral orange color! :)

Wait! Where did your parents go that they're not living in St. G. anymore?! Can't believe you two have been married so long. :D Time flies!
