I bought a sewing machine about a year ago, and NEVER used it. I was way too scared! So I am very pleased to say that I made this one all by myself. I don' t know what I was so scared of. I am so happy that our ward offers so many fun and educational activities. I really like learning how to do the "lost arts" like sewing, bottling food, making breads from scratch, and stuff like that. I just really feel like I am going to someday need all those skills. To me those things really are an art, and I admire people who can do them.

Quilting
Our ward just started a Sewing Group, and I am really excited! Over the weekend I learned how to do these really cute, and easy patch work quilts there. We donated the blankets we worked on, but I bought extra stuff to make Nathan this one. He was at JoAnn's with me and really liked these fire trucks.

Great job Monica!!! That looks awesome!
wow, I am impressed! My mother in law gave me a sewing machine for Christmas and I haven't tried anything yet. I need to just try. The blanket looks great!
Good Job! It looks great! I too used to be scared of the sewing machine, but once I started, I couldn;t stop! I love it! what a fun ward you are in!
It's beutiful! Excellent job. I'm glad you learned how to do that. I'll have to give you a pattern for an easy, but way cute flannel blanket. That's cool that Nathan got to pick out the fabric. That makes it so much more fun to see there eyes light up because it's theirs and they picked it out! How fun for you. Keep up the good work.
how cute! How on earth was that easy!?! You'll have to tell me your secret! :)
