Summer Fun

Summer is here and it is HOT! Now is when I start turning in to a hermit. So if you don't see me for the next 3 months, blame it on the weather. Here is what has been going on with us:

Friday was Nathan's last day of swimming class! He is getting more comfortable with being in the water, and that is exciting for us. He loves to swim and be wet, as long as water is not on his face. The class has helped him, and he even enjoyed standing in the shower after each class. He learned how to blow bubbles, swim with a kick board, float (with help...), and all the basics. I tried to get some pictures of him in action, but at this pool they don't let the parents stay poolside- to limit distractions.

Ava can get around all by herself now...yes she is finally crawling! It is nice that she knows how, but of course now we have to baby proof big time. We need to buy some gates for the stairs really soon. She tries to climb the first one, but can't get her chubby legs all the way up, so that is good for now. Here is a little video of her crawling:

Ava also just cut her sixth tooth. Nathan didn't begin teething until he was 9 months old, so having an 8 month old with 6 teeth is crazy. At least she no longer looks like a vampire... (she got her bottom two teeth first, then her 2 lateral incisors- the ones on either side of where her two front ones will be, and the front two came in a few weeks later). I am sure hoping she starts sleeping through the night again...
